The site exists because of one specific frustration: nearly every decorating article online is twelve photographs and a caption, and not one of them gives you the measurement you actually need while you are standing in the room holding a tape. The pieces here try to include the part that gets left out — what it costs, how long it really takes, and where the job tends to go wrong.

She is not a qualified interior designer and does not claim to be. What she does is read widely, test things in her own house, get a fair number of them wrong, and write down what turned out to be true. Where a job is genuinely outside that — anything structural, electrical or gas — the advice is to stop reading and call somebody qualified, and the articles say so plainly.
